Rosemary A. Akers, age 90, (nee Korenkiewicz), was the beloved wife of the late Raymond, Sr.; loving mother of Raymond Jr. (Amy), Jane (late Tullio) Infelise, and Mary Akers (long time friend of Elmer Mestrovic); dear grandmother of Tullio Jr. (Dawn), Genevieve (Lionell), Raymond Anthony, Matthew, and Victoria; sister of the late Sophie (late Felix) Rucki, late Florence (late Chester) Peplowski, late Eleanor (late Alexander) Kania, late Hattie (late Edward) Olichwier, late Irene (late  William) Wheeler, and late Adeline (late William) Cuculich;;aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Rosemary was a member of St. Mary of Perpetual Help Mother's Guild and room mom, and a former member of the Daughters of Isabella Copernicus Circle.

Rosemary Akers life started and ended 90 years at 923 West 32nd Street Chicago, IL.

She was the 7th Daughter of Anna and Adolf Korenkiewicz.  Anna was born in 1888 where St. Mary’s gym stands on 32nd and Aberdeen.

4 Generations of Rosemary’s family have been Baptized, Schooled, Married and Buried from St. Mary’s of Perpetual Help Parish.

Rosemary and Ray were married in 1953 and in 1954 started their family.  Ray Jr. was born and was her Pride and Joy.  Raymond could do no wrong in his Mother’s eyes.  3 years later she was blessed with twin girls, Jane and Mary.  She was very protective and strict, especially with her girls.

She loved the Holidays and giving gifts to all of her family.  Rosemary was a fantastic cook and baker and all from scratch.

The next generation of her family came along with her Grandchildren, TJ, Genny, Ray, Matthew and Tori.  And they became her new Precious Things. 

She never stopped worrying about any of them and even more importantly never wanted anyone to worry about her.

She loved seeing how her children had created their own families.

She never liked being the Center of Attention, but quietly her family was always the 

A mass of Christian burial  for family and friends will take place 10:30 am at St. Mary of Perpetual Help Church, 1039 West 32nd Street, Chicago on Saturday, August 22, 2020. Int. Private. (773)927-6424.

grandma Rosemary how I called her for so many years, it will never be easy to accept that you are no longer next door, or get your call asking the boys to switch the back yard light bulb, we were neighbors for 25 years, will for ever miss you grandma. :(
