David (Dave) G Mata- better known as “Mata”

August 28,1959-December 15,2020

Dave was a dedicated father to his four children Rebecca, David, Jaclyn, and Edward, whom he shared with Lisa Considine. A devoted fiancé to Lisa Jett and a loving brother to Mario, Paul, and Yolanda.

His favorite hobbies were taking pictures, going to White Sox games, traveling, golfing, and cracking jokes. More times than not, you wouldn’t catch Dave without his trademark stogie and infamous beer. Although Dave was an exceptional businessman, he was notorious for his photography, that captured precious moments documenting his life with loved ones.

He had a tough exterior, but underneath it all, he was the goofiest man you would ever meet. He didn’t always have the right words but made up for it through his iconic gestures. If he invited you to a White Sox game, that meant he enjoyed your company. If he gave you a nickname, that was an indication of his affection for you.

Although Dave had a long and rough journey, he passed peacefully with his family by his side and the support of all who loved him. He will be truly missed.

Visitation for Dave will be held on Sunday, December 20, 2020, from 3–9 p.m.

On Monday, December 21st, there will be a church service at St. Barbara Catholic Church at 9:30 a.m. Following the church service, Dave will be put to rest at Mount Carmel Cemetery (Queen of Heaven) at 11:15 a.m.
