Clifford "Pete" Pienta                01/17/1944 - 08/24/2021

Retired CPD, U.S.A/F/ Veteran.

Devoted father of Geoff (Norah), Michelle, Tiffany ( Alan ) Negron, Jennifer, Peter, and Justin; Loving grandfather of Annabeth Pienta Woodham, Caden, Coby, and Baby Negron ( October, 2021 ), Nathan, Benjamin, Alison, Violet Wolfe, ( the late ) Kazimierz Clifford, and Lincoln Mayes. Cliff was born to his beloved parents, Casimir and Virginia ( nee Goga ) Pienta, and is a cherished brother to the late Michael Stephen, Mitchell, Dennis, Chris (Kate), Maryeve ( Dr. Terrence ) Lerner, and Russell ( Donna ). Dear uncle to many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews; and cousin to more than we can count. Dear friend of many, especially Elizabeth Pienta.

Cliff lived and worked in Chicago most of his life, with the exception of four years in thr Air Force when he was stationed at various bases in the continental United States. After 30 years on the Chicago Police Department as a decorated Police Officer, Cliff spent many years in security at McCormick Place Chicago. The three things in life that he was most proud of were his family, his service to our country, and the many years in police work.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation at www.cpdmemorial.org.

Visitation will be Tuesday, August 31, 2021 from 3-8:00 pm and Wednesday, September 1, 2021 from 8 - 9:15 am at St. Barbara Church, 2859 South Throop Street, Chicago, IL 60608, with a funeral mass celebrated at 9:30 am. INT. Private, (773)927-6424.

I want to express my condolences for your loss of Cliff. I went to DeLaSalle High School with Cliff. I am also a retired Chicago Police Officer and saw Cliff occasionally while working. I no longer live in Chicago and will not be able to attend the services. I am sure he will be missed by all and again want to express my condolences to the family

I will remember Grandpa Cliff as a (usually) quiet man, filled with love for his children and grandchildren. He was always helping out in some way. My condolences on such a huge loss for the family. We are sending love and prayers to Chicago today and in the days to come. Grandpa, you will be sorely missed, but we will see you again one day!

I went to St Barbara HS with Bette. We met Cliff in your early years together. Had some great times. Will never forget condolences to all of your family, work family and friends.
