Joan Darr

It is with great sadness that the family of Joan Marie Darr, "Joannie", announces her passing after a long struggle with small cell lung cancer on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at the age of 84 years. Joannie is now reunited with her husband, Elmer in heaven. Joan will be lovingly remembered by her children, Gloria (Jay) and Alan (Jeanine). Joan will also be forever remembered by her four grandchildren, Colin, Abbey, Jack, and Emma; by her sisters, Charlene (Ed) and Carol (Miles),her brothers, the late Vincent and late Joseph; and her Aunt Rita whom she also called "sister". Joannie will also be remembered by her many nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.

A celebration of Joannie will be held Sunday, June 30, 2019 from 3-9:00 pm at Pomierski & Son Funeral Home, 1059 West 32nd Street, and Monday, July 1 from 8 -10:00 am. We will then have a 10:30 mass of Christian burial at St. Barbara Chuch, 2859 South Throop Street. She will be interred at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, (773)927-6424. www.pomierskifunerlhome.com
