Leonor A. Considine

Leonor Considine, lovingly known as Eleonor, passed away peacefully at home on May 11, 2025, at the age of 92, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on February 26, 1933, in San Luis Potosí, Mexico. Leonor immigrated to the United States at a very young age, settling in Chicago—a city she would proudly call home for the rest of her life. It was there that she met the love of her life, John “Jack” Considine, where they built a family and a legacy of hard work and resilience.

 Leonor quickly established herself in the Pilsen neighborhood, where she became a beloved and well-known presence. She raised her children, Lisa and Robert, with love and honesty, never afraid to show tough love when it was needed. For almost 60 years, she owned and operated her own tavern—creating a space filled with laughter, stories, and community. Through her business and her presence, she became a pillar of the neighborhood, admired and respected by many. 

She was tough, resilient, and never took no for an answer. Leonor told it how it was—always honest, always direct, and never one to beat around the bush. Her strength, integrity, brutal honesty, and strong work ethic left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered.Leonor was a devoted wife, a proud and loving mother, a cherished grandmother to Rebecca, David, Jaclyn, and Edward, and an affectionate great-grandmother to J.J, Melanie, Savannah, and Josie. Her family was her greatest joy, and her love for them was boundless.

 Her legacy lives on through the lives she touched, the community she helped build, and the family she created. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Family and friends will gather for visitation Thursday, May 22, 2025 from 3-8:00 pm and Friday, May 23 from 8:30-9:30 am at Walter Pomierski & Son Funeral Home, 1059 West 32nd Street, Chicago, IL 60608. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10:00 am Friday, May 23 at St. Procopius Church, 18th and Allport, Chicago. Interment Mount Carmel Cemetery. (773)927-6424
