Marshall V. Christopher

Marshall V. Christopher passed away Sunday, July 9, 2023., at the age of 77.

He is a retired Chicago Police Officer, having served school patrol, Loop traffic, and District 019.

Marshall was one of the originators to introduce Women Boxing to the Chicago land area. He also started a boxing Club called Tough Enough which had both men and women as members. A highlight was a venue at Ditka's Restaurant featuring Christi Martin vs Christi Cruz ( Marshall 's exwife). Leon Spink was working the work at the time in a Tuxedo. He also organized the first Police vs. Fireman boxing tournament in front of the Old Limelight night club at Dearborn/ Ontario.

15 (3 minute) rounds. Fireman won 9 of 15.

He met the love of his life Heloise around 2004

and they have a 14 year old daughter Bianca.

Heloise cared for Marshall until he passed. He was a loyal friend to many and will always be remembered.

Friends and family will gather for a visitation Thursday, July 27, 2023 from 10-11 am, followed by an 11 am mass at Our Lady of Pompeii Shrine, 1224 West Lexington Street, Chicago, IL 60609 .

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Walter Pomierski Funeral Home for Marshall's burial are most appreciated.
