Patricia A. Berkery

Patricia Berkery, 76, passed away on April 28, 2022. Patricia was born January 29, 1946 in Chicago, the daughter of  Donald and  Rose (nee Scorzo) Shaw and step-daughter of Ted Spiewak.  Patricia was a lifelong resident of the Bridgeport neighborhood in Chicago.

 Patricia had the heart of an artist and expressed her creativity with many arts and crafts projects over the years. She was known for the beautifully decorated cupcakes that she made for family and friends, especially for the holidays. She was also an expert level Lego builder, having built an extensive list of Lego projects from cars and robots to the Taj Mahal and Colosseum. A big fan of  TV and movies, Patricia loved going to comic cons and meeting her favorite celebrities.  She enjoyed live theater and her favorite shows were "A Christmas Carol" at The Goodman Theater and "Les Miserables".

What Patricia loved most of all was spending time with her family. Survivors include her daughter, Kimberly (Scott) Cowan, her son Raymond Kappel,Jr., her grandchildren Stephanie (Patrick) Quinn, Joseph Kappel, and Anthony Kappel, and her great-grandson, River Quinn.

 A gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday, April 30, 2022 from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Walter Pomierski & Son Funeral Home, 1059 West 32nd Street, Chicago, IL 60608.  (773)927-6424
